Ontario NDP MPP, Cheri DiNovo, speaking out against the Breed Specific conditions in the Dog Owners Liability Act (DOLA), enacted by former Attorney General, Michael Bryant. Later in the day, the MPP from Parkdale-High Park, moved a bill that if passed into law, will repeal the breed specificity sections in the DOLA. This legislation was brought into law to eliminate the "Pit Bull" breed of dogs, a designation that actually doesn't formally exist according to breeders, and veterinarians.

In August 2005, the Dog Owner's Liability Act was introduced in Ontario and BSL became a reality. Since then, countless dogs have been euthanized or displaced. We represent advocates for the breeds presently discriminated against and support MPP Cheri DiNovo from Parkdale-High Park (Toronto) who is bringing a private member's bill to Queen's Park November 18th!
